Why I'm running
I've lived in Woodcreek for about three years, but I've been coming to the Hill Country to visit family for over fifteen. I appreciate what makes this place worth protecting — the natural beauty, the small-town character, and the sense that residents and volunteers, not bureaucracy, run this city.
Professionally, I've spent nearly 20 years in computer programming and cybersecurity. That background shapes how I approach problems, and I have a natural appreciation for the value of not over-engineering things. Technology should serve the city, not the other way around.

Where I stand
Here are just a few of the areas where I can bring practical judgment to decisions the council is already facing.
Aqua Texas rate case
Water rates are the top pocketbook issue for nearly every household in Woodcreek right now, and residents deserve clear, timely, plain-language information about what's happening. I'd prioritize transparent communication — through the Mayor's Note and direct town-hall style updates — on the status of the PUC case, the interim rates currently in effect (subject to refund), and what the expected ruling could mean for bills.
The city's legal intervention alongside Hays County and the Watershed Association is already underway. My role would be making sure residents fully understand it as it unfolds.
Comprehensive Plan & growth
The city is about to rewrite its long-term growth and land-use rulebook using a state grant. I support managing growth carefully and deliberately, so new development strengthens the town without eroding what makes it distinct: its natural surroundings, its scale, and its community feel.
I'd want any updated ordinances to reflect that balance explicitly, not just accommodate growth for its own sake.
Community & volunteer engagement
Woodcreek runs on volunteer boards — Trees & Parks, Planning & Zoning, Community Relations, Board of Adjustment — and the city has said outright that it needs more people willing to serve. I want to make recruiting and supporting these volunteers a real, ongoing priority, not an afterthought.
I also support the council's existing instinct to send spending decisions back to the relevant board rather than deciding top-down. Local knowledge should drive local decisions wherever possible.
Technology & fiscal judgment
My computer science background is directly useful to decisions the city is already making: security camera policy, data retention, procurement, and vendor contracts. I bring fresh technical literacy to evaluate these choices independently, ask the right questions, and help make sure the city isn't over-paying for complexity it doesn't need or under-protecting resident data.
The same instinct applies to infrastructure and environmental projects: favor the simple, durable, well-understood solution over the flashy one.
